Elfishki and The Giant Cake - Interactive iPad Book For Kids

Hey Kinkies.  As you know, I have been doing review on things other than just hair.  As for this review, I'm focusing on an interactive iPad book that I downloaded for my daughter.  The books is called "Elfishki and The Giant Cake."

This interactive book is for children ages 5 - 9.  My daughter is 8.5.  I had my daughter read it and play with it on her dad's iPad and when I asked her what her thoughts were of the book, she had this to say:

What did you think of the book?  It was boring when I just read it but I liked it when I listened to it (she used the option for 'listen').

What about when you were able to touch the screen and use the interactive options?  It was fun making things move and make sounds when I touched the screen ('play' option), but the story was boring.  It was about a girl and Gargoyle making a cake and the ghost didn't like it.  The games that you can play were very interesting and interactive.  I also liked the cake making part of the book, even though the boys ingredients were yucky!  The pictures were colorful and pretty.

Well, that's my daughter's thoughts on the book.  I thought it was a bit young for her age; however, I thought it was a cute interactive book in regards to the option to make (and save the picture of) a cake and the interactive options as you read the story.  My daughter likes to play as if she is a baker or a chef, so this was a cool thing for her.  At first, she didn't realize that you could touch the pages and see the ghost move, bottles make noise and things fly; however, once I showed her, she had fun playing with this book on her dad's iPad.  The images are bright and very colorful and the story line isn't bad.  I think the targeted age for such a book should stop at kindergarten and not go up to age 9.
